August 28th Recap
A raucous, capacity crowd jam packed the Marine Club Gym last Saturday night and witnessed an ACPW show full of returns, newcomers, and surprises aplenty. Topping the list of returnees was a former Jr. Heavyweight Champion: Rory Gulak. The former 'Little Mondo' stunned not only the audience with his return, but his opponent Steve O'hara. Sporting a new attitude and using his profound amateur wrestling background, Gulak dominated O'hara for the majority of the match. While on hiatus, Gulak trained with some of the best wrestlers in the world, honing his craft to perfection. And it showed, O'hara didn't stand a chance. Once can only assume that his hunt for gold will resume sooner rather than later.

Marc Angel is a marked man. Not only did he have to defeat Chris Burns to retain his championship on Saturday, but now thanks to the new Underground rules, he has to watch his back wherever he goes. In addition to being paranoid of every person he comes in contact with, but he has to prepare for a man who has a guarenteed shot at the Underground Title, Matt Wylde. Violent Intentions made its presence felt in a big way Saturday night after Wylde defeated three of the toughest men ACPW could find: Mega Destroyer, Zito, and the mountainous Grey Wolf, in a huge elimination four way dance. Johnny Cisco seems hell bent on destroying not only Gemini, but so it seems Marc Angel as well, and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. What does the evil Johnny Cisco have planned for ACPW? What will happen when he achieves his goals? Better yet....who can stop him?

Another man who made his gallant return to an ACPW ring this past Saturday, none other than the masked cowboy and former Television Champion: Maverick! Maverick was succesfull in vanquishing ACPW newcomer, Zulu the African Warrior. A veteran of over ten years, Maverick knew just what it took to take down the overpowering tribal warlord. Using his keen awareness and overall ring experience, Maverick was able to hogtie Zulu and make him look like a rodeo clown. Who will step up and challenge this Lone Ranger to another duel? Will Maverick keep this winning streak alive? Or will he ride off into the sunset?

Aramis and Pelle Primeau have a long standing history in ACPW. One is the longest reigning ACPW Jr. Heavyweight Champion of all time. The other is the self proclaimed 'King of the Juniors.' Both men can easilly make arguments at being the best wrestler in the company today. Both men currently hold gold and have had them extensive periods of time. On saturday night, these two technical juggernauts met yet again for Pelle's coveted Jr. Heavyweight Championship. And as usual they did not disappoint. And yet again Pelle Primeau continues to defy the odds and retain the championship he holds dear. How long will the King of the Juniors remain on his throne? What do the Dark Horses of ACPW, Shaheem and Aramis, have up next in their sights?

With the injury to Onslaught and the future of the Cash Money Brothers in question, Rob was forced to fend for himself. It didn't take him long to find a new tag team partner in Frankie Frizzo. Frizzo, after going through a series of setbacks in his young career as of late, has inlisted the help of none other than Loudy to help turn his career around. Eric 'Blackie' DeShields and The Force that is Ty Reno have also put themselves into the Tag Team Title picture. With the winners of this match moving on to face NI4NI to see who the number one contenders to the Vegas Players Tag Titles are, the stakes were high on Saturday night. With the stage set, these two teams battled in what turned out to be an epic contest, with both teams scratching tooth and nail to advance. What started off as a hard fought battle ended amidst extreme controvery. Two men, both former members of the ACPW roster, bum rushed the ring and blind sided both teams laying them all out in the process. Neither of these men are under contract with ACPW and due to legal ramifications we are not releasing the names of the two men. What was the goal of these two invaders? Why did they attack Ty Rob Frizzo and Blackie? Will they return and if so, who's next?  Stay tuned to acpwrestling.com for more updates as they come!

August 30, 2010 update

Nobody ever said Commissioner Johnny Cisco was subtle and kind. Far from it. But Saturday night our incomparable commissioner had some particularly scathing words about the ACPW Underground Championship. "This title, since its inception, has been an absolute joke and is a stain on MY company! The division is weak, the title is pointless, and the 'champion', and i use the term very loosely, is a mockery as well. It's time to shake things up and turn this garbage into something respectable." Commissioner Cisco has implemented a whole entire rule set for the division seemingly transforming it from a meaningless undercard title, to something the fans and wrestlers can be proud of. The new ACPW Underground Championship rules more closely follow those of underground pit fighting, where there are NO DQ's, NO countouts and the title can and will be defended 24/7/365.

As Commissioner Cisco stated 'As long as there is a ref and a camera it counts.'Current ACPW Underground Champion Marc Angel had this to say about the rule changes after he defeated Chris Burns to retain his title: "Johnny Cisco can say what he wants about this title and about me. But i know and all the fans know i'm a proud fighting champion and i'll do whatever it takes to keep the title where it belongs. I come from the streets of Philly, this type of match is right up my alley, i've dealt with this all my life, so if he thinks he's making things tougher for me he's got another thing coming. Marc Angel will be the ACPW Underground Champion for a long long time i can promise you that." Marc Angel needs to have eyes in the back of his head and sleep with one eye open though. Waiting in the wings is the new number one contender for the Underground Championship, the Baltimore Bad Boy and Johnny Cisco's protege in Violent Intentions, Matt Wylde. It seems that Johnny Cisco specifically create these rules to benefit Wylde in his hunt for gold and elimnate Marc Angel from ACPW for good.

Can Marc Angel beat the odds and continue his reign as Underground Champion? Will Johnny Cisco get his way and manage yet another champion? What other surprises will this new improved Underground division bring? Stay tuned to acpwrestling.com and check the official acpw facebook,
